Almaty
Almaty is located in the southeast of Kazakhstan. Almaty is the largest financial, economic and cultural center of Central Asia. The city is called “Southern Capital”, because earlier it had the highest administrative status in the country. It is situated in the foothills of the Zailisky Alatau mountains. Almaty is one of the most beautiful cities.
Tourists
and residents have at their disposal five stadiums, a hippodrome, Medeo
sport complex, Kok-Tobe and etc. Medeo is a popular skating area for many
visitors. Kok-Tobe is the highest point in city, 1130 m above sea level. From
here you can see magnificent view of the mountain ranges and the city. It is
especially beautiful at night when Almaty is glimmering with lights. In Almaty
you can visit a lot of museums, theaters, art galleries, exhibition halls and
numerous modern entertainment complexes as movie theaters,
nightclubs,parks,restaraunts, cafes and etc. Almaty has amazing parks.
In central part of Almaty there is the one of
the favorite places of residents of “Southern Capital – the 28 Panfilov heroes
Park, where many celebrations and festivities take place. Today, this park
occupies the area of 18 hectares and is buried in the shade of trees. On its
territory there is the Ascension Cathedral – the wooden 1907 building with the
height of 56 meters, which survive the powerful 10-magnitude earthquake without
any damage. Not far from the church there is the Memorial of Glory, on which
the images of Panfilov soldiers standing up staunchly for wall of the Kremlin
are depicted, as well as the images of soldiers giving the oath of defenders of
the motherland and the soldiers, sounding the victory. The Memorial of Glory is
ended by Eternal Fire.
The second popular park is Gorky park. It is
a good recreational space for both walking and entertaining the children.
The lights of shop windows, cafes,
restaurants, entertainment centers burn until dawn. City - Garden, a bright
flower in the foothills of Alatau Zaili recognized is considered one of the
most beautiful cities of Central Asia. You should visit Almaty and see all
superb attractions and places.
